Event Details

Breastfeeding Mothers Unite is a grassroots organization geared towards bringing together breastfeeding mothers and their supporters.  Our belief is that the community can get nowhere without mothers and that mothers are made stronger knowing that their communities are ready, willing and able to back their efforts of raising well-rounded individuals.  Unfortunately, a large number of mothers are being harassed, berated and humiliated for doing what is best for their children.  For this reason, we are organizing a Million Mothers March on Michigan, scheduled for July 18th for 10am to 3pm.

We are fighting to protect a mother's right to breastfeed her baby any place where she and her baby are legally permitted, and mandating maternity leave providing every baby with the most basic of human rights, access to their mother and her milk.  The March is intended to bring attention to breastfeeding as well as to show that the issue has supporters that are willing to stand up for the rights of mothers; To strengthen families and bring together communities through the support, empowerment and advocacy of mothers doing what is right and natural for their children.

Promotion for the March will consist:

Direct mail Marketing

Email Marketing

Social Networking Event Marketing Website

Other industry related conferences/meetings

Special Interest Groups

Flyers

and a handbook to be distributed the day of the March.

The handbook will feature evidence detailing the benefits of breastfeeding, articles written by mothers sharing their experiences, ads from organizations that are supporting cause, as well as information about support groups.

If your company decides to help us with our promotion of the March and/or helping us financially by sponsoring our efforts, your company logo and contact information will be featured in all promotional material.

There are many ways that you can get involved with this event:

·         Financial contributions will help underwrite the costs to the organization, as well as allow us to provide travel stipends for families who wish to attend, but have limited available income

·         Help promote the march by adding the event to your calendars, websites and other promotional material

·         Recruit volunteers for the day of the March

·         Donate merchandize to be made available to supporters during the March (ie. Water bottles, tote or book bags to carry promotional material, t-shirts, etc.)

All funds or merchandize to be distributed must be delivered on or before July 7, 2012.
